Pluchea rosea


Uncommon in cultivation, but an annual that might deserve a place in a damp spot in your garden.

Plant Facts:

Common Name:   Pluchea

Botanical Name:   Pluchea rosea

Plant Type:  Low shrub

Zones: 6-10

Height:  3'

Soil Requirements:  Prefers damp locations.

Water Requirements: Low drought tolerance.

Light Requirements: Full sun

Leaves:  Oval or oblong, alternate, 2-4" long, hairy and aromatic.

Flowers: Rounded clusters of small, bright purple-pink, rayless flowers, blooming from spring to fall.


Uses:  Must be seen to be appreciated. An annual that should be used in the garden in areas where the soil tends to be damp.

Propagation:  Seeds -- reseeds readily.
